Discover & Learn at Houghton Hall
At Houghton, we take great pleasure in hosting your school and college groups for a self-led visits and learning sessions. Your visit comes at no cost, with complimentary admission for both pupils and accompanying staff/helpers. A school trip to Houghton not only offers valuable educational opportunities but also supports student wellbeing, initiates topic exploration, and facilitates cross-curricular learning.
Self-Led Visits on Tuesdays
Currently we are delighted to offer support for self-led learning visits on Tuesdays, when we are closed to the public.
We encourage groups to explore our expansive grounds, which provide ample space for immersive, hands-on learning experiences in a safe and enjoyable environment. During your visit, you will have access to the Sculpture Park, outdoor exhibition, woodland areas, playground and Education Centre. Upon special request, access to The Walled Garden can also be arranged.
Please note that on our dedicated educational days, certain areas such as the House with its state rooms, Model Soldier Museum, and Shop and Café will remain closed, as Tuesday is not an official open day and these areas are not staffed.
