Family Garden Trail
New for Summer 2025 is our fun garden trail, which is free for garden visitors. Covering nine areas of the garden, youngsters explore to learn interesting snippets and are invited to answer questions to earn a Finisher's sticker.

Step inside the Stable Block
To discover the Soldier Museum, home to the largest private collection of model soldiers in the world. Plus, our outdoor play area is just a short walk from the Stables and Cafe. Let your little ones loose on our wooden playground, complete with a slide and swings.
After all that play
Refuel at our cafe with a selection of light snacks and soft drinks. Don't forget to browse our shop for toys, games, and children's gifts. We're continuously expanding our offerings to make Houghton Hall & Gardens even more family-friendly.
Then on to the Stables cafe and shops - all of which were fantastic. Had a wonderful, good value lunch and were tempted by many items in the shop.
Toy soldier museum EPIC depictions of multiple (mainly 19th century) battles.
We spent a fantastic few hours enjoying all it had to offer. White deer roam the grounds and they were a joy to watch.
The hall featured impressive modern sculptures alongside intriguing older artifacts. I'm eager to return soon. The friendly staff warmly welcomed visitors, offering detailed information and insights into the hall's history and exhibits.
St. Martin's Church is tranquil and picturesque amidst stunning grounds. Members of the Walpole family are buried here.
We went to the cafe which was fantastic, cakes were superb and the pot of tea was a proper pot of tea well done the cafe team who were delightful.
