Houghton Outdoor Sculpture

In recent years, Lord Cholmondeley has built up an impressive collection of contemporary sculpture by world renowned artists, which are displayed in the gardens and grounds at Houghton. The first to be commissioned, in 2000, was a ‘Skyspace’ by the American artist James Turrell. Since then many other sculptures have been added, many specifically created for a particular place in the grounds.

‘My hope is that in time Houghton will become a ‘must-see’ destination for those interested in contemporary sculpture.’ Lord Cholmondeley
